Thai Yoga Massage is a unique form of therapeutic massage
that combines acupressure with passive stretches,
guided by the calming rhythm of our breath.

The pressure is applied with the therapist’s palms, fingers and thumbs

and in some cases even with elbows, forearms or

feet, to release those deeper spots of tension.

During a treatment, the therapist works to remove the blockages
along these lines to restore the free flow of energy in your body

so that your nervous and immune systems can go back to doing their job.

Thanks to this energetic approach, Thai Yoga Massage can alleviate many

different types of aches and pains (including back and neck pain, and headaches)

and help to stimulate circulation, reduce stress, tiredness and restlessness.

Regular treatments can significantly boost your energy, increase your flexibility
and mobility, and allow you to feel truly at home in your body

Releasing tension and restoring
your self-healing potential

Everything in our body ultimately consists of energy, our cells, our emotions,
thoughts and even our memories are stored in our cells in the form of energy.

Physical and emotional stress causes our bodies to build up tension.

This tension leads to blockages, which constrict the free flow
of energy
through our bodies, and which we experience

as physical and emotional imbalances and pain.

Our bodies have a powerful self-healing capacity,

thanks to our intricate nervous and immune systems.

However, the physical tension and energy blockages can prevent
our
muscles, organs and nervous-system from functioning optimally.

Thai Yoga massage uses the Thai system of energy lines, called the Ten Sen.
These lines run throughout our body from the top of our head,
through our abdomen to the soles of our feet.

A highly flexible practice accessible to anyone

Thai Yoga Massage is very accessible as it takes place
without the use of oil and with the receiver wearing comfortable clothes.

I tailor every treatment to each person’s individual needs.

Hence my massages are suitable for everyone, regardless of age,

weight, body shape and level of strength and flexibility.

The treatments are given with the receiver lying on a mat on the floor.
As the mat is very easily transportable, it allows me to offer
the massages at people’s homes as well as in beautiful places outdoors.

To people for whom lying on a mat is not possible,
I also offer seated massages on a chair.

I massage pregnant women with the mother lying on her side

to ensure her comfort and well as the safety of the baby.

This approach allows me to give mothers a thorough treatment,

from the 3rd month of pregnancy, all the way up to birth.

You can also have postnatal treatments, with you baby next to you,

working around feeding and your baby’s needs.

My treatments last 1.5 to 2 hours and cover your whole body,

from your feet to your head and everything in between
(except
the breast and genital areas and any parts that you prefer to be skipped).

The rhythm and depth of the massage can range from

very gentle and relaxing to energetic and invigorating.

Before each treatment we will discuss how you are feeling
and identify your challenges, needs and preferences.

This way, we will ensure a safe and comfortable experience
and allow you to leave with a smile.

A holistic approach to healing
with ancient roots

Surprisingly, the roots of Thai Yoga Massage were found in northern India.
The founder is believed to be a man called Jivaka Kumar Bhacca,
who was the physician to the Maghada king at that time,
as well as a close friend of buddha.

While it is unclear exactly when Bhaccha’s teachings reached Thailand,
it is generally believed to have arrived around 2500 BC,
alongside Buddhism and the Indian traditional healing system.

For centuries, this traditional approach to healing, which included massage,
was practiced in villages and passed down orally from generation to generation.
It is likely that, overtime, it was influenced by Chinese acupressure
and other traditional forms of massage, like Japanese shiatsu therapy.

Sadly, much of the history of Thai Yoga Massage was lost
when the medical scriptures were destroyed by Burmese invaders in 1767.
However, today Bhaccha is honored in Thailand as “The father of medicine”
and the Thai government actually recognizes that Thai Yoga Massage
is superior to Western medicine in the treatment of many ailments.
